While the book offers many good ideas for self-publishing and marketing both hardcopy and digital books, some are not clearly spelled out and would take technical expertise and marketing savvy most beginners don't possess - thus, that's why you should take the course. There is nothing wrong with using a book to market a training course - I just want other readers to know this upfront. Koenig states that he can show you how to take your Kindle book into "best seller" category, bringing in thousands of dollars. He stated that out of 39 people who took his course, 26 went on to publish their books and reach that achievement. Koenigs interviews five successful graduate at the end of the book and their stories are enjoyable reading.Koenigs includes information about how to promote your book through building a mailing list, videos, podcasts, social media and how to make additional income from speaking engagements and community events. After reading all these recommendations, I realized I would never have the time, energy, expertise, staff, connections, technical skills, or money to implement most of them. Frankly, I've decided to invest my training dollars elsewhere, because there was something about his marketing approach that seems just too slick for me. His is not the kind of books I want to write. On the plus side, Koenigs writes with a crisp, motivating, optimistic style and seems to engage the reader well. I wish him and everyone who reads his book success in their writing and publishing their books.

While I'd known previously that I should write a book and knew how to do it, I hadn't actually gotten it done.Once going through Publish and Profit I followed the program working weekends and 2 evenings a week. I started writing my book on August 30 of this year, and by September 21 (only 23 days later) I not only had published my book, but Mike's launch strategies helped me reach #1 best seller status in 4 categories.As result, In the 2 weeks since (and without even trying) I've been approached 3 times to be interviewed on podcasts and radio shows.If you have knowledge, a message, or a mission that you want to share with the world (or your region of it), Publish and Profit is a must for you.

I don't know the author personally.There are two ways to review this book.First, the book is very strong on giving reasons for writing a book. You find out all the uses for a book...all the ways to use a book to promote yourself, your products, your company, or services you offer. Chapter nine gives some solid information on how to create a book title and sub title that will get your book sold. Yo find out about the benefits of creating an Audiobook and using different platforms to publish your work and promote your book. The book is heavy with success stories, personal details (the author's Origin Story).But if you are buying the book to learn the actual steps to promote your book, you aren't going to get that.If I wasn't aware of the purpose of this book, I'd give it one or two stars. But I am aware of its purpose, and as an example of how to use a book to promote your services, this book is an excellent example. Study the book...how it's written..The Author tells you his personal story, just as he does in all his books. And he does it in a way that you can relate to him. Every chapter isbasically describing another benefit to writing a book...another way to use a book to promote yourself. Each chapter builds your desire to act, not just dream. The author describes how to get the reader's contact information, and then actually does what he teaches, by giving you an offer to see a free video at the end of every chapter.He describes (without much detail) how to get your book to #1 in Amazon for at least one category, and how to do it quickly. The strategy seems to work, as every book Mike Koenigs has written was an Amazon Best Seller for a short time.So looking at the book as a model to use ...if you want to write a book to promote yourself is a valuable use of time.A couple minor complaints, although not strictly about the content of the book. This book was written just two years ago. It's still listed onAmazon, and people are still buying it. But the links in the book are no longer active. These books are published on Createspace. They are print-on-demand books. The content can be changed at any time in the paperback or Kindle versions. Either the link could go to a useful site, or the links could be deleted.By taking out the links, the book would become its own dead end. You don't learn enough from the book to implement, and there is no link to getfurther (for a fee) information.I gave it four stars because the book serves as a great example in how to use a book to promote yourself, and how to construct the book itself.

Truth be told, there's some pretty good information in this book, but it's buried behind all the hype and self promotion. If you don't mind someone trying to sell you something all through the book, go ahead and buy this book. If you're tired of paying for books that are little more than a paid promo for the author move on.It may just be a personal thing, but when I buy a book, I'm interested in learning about something or being entertained.One section I did like was the chapter on titles. To my knowledge, no one has written about this technique before. I won't give it away, just let me say - it's worth the 99 cent cover price, maybe even $2.99.
